Sierra Moms Executive Board
President – Melissa Cvitanovic
Melissa Cvitanovic is a proud mother of three (Jake-6, Chloe-4, Ella-newborn). She was born and raised in the El Dorado Hills and moved to San Francisco after high school to attend college and moved back ‘home’ in 2011 after her son was born. Her husband is from Croatia and they spend a month every summer there. She and her husband, Nick, believe in exposing their children to many different cultures and parts of the world. They love to go to new places, try new things, and meet new people. She is a Real Estate Broker and investor and has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing she earned from San Francisco State University.
Melissa found Sierra Moms when she was looking to find new and interesting things to do with her young ones. Since she works at home mostly and can be flexible, she finds it especially necessary to schedule time with her kids and Sierra Moms made it simple for her to schedule play-dates and fun activities. Melissa loves the community, camaraderie, friendship and support this group has to offer and is extremely honored to serve on the Board of Directors as President for two terms.
Melissa enjoys traveling, exercising (usually in the form of running w a bob or Jillian Michaels workouts), playing tennis, cooking and entertaining friends and family (good food and wine a must)!
Vice President – Chandra Kramer
A native of Orange County, Chandra originally moved to Northern California to attend San Jose State where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Her 3 ½ year old daughter, Aidyn Olivia, was born three months premature and was in the NICU at Mercy San Juan for two months. This experience made it easy for Chandra to decide to leave her career as an account executive at a high tech company to become a stay-at-home mom.
Chandra has been a member of Sierra Moms since 2013 and has served the group in various roles including Director of Membership, Director of Community Relations, and two stints as Vice President. As the current Vice President, she enjoys planning the Monthly All Member Socials and the quarterly parties alongside Melissa Ores. Chandra treasures all of the wonderful friendships she and her daughter have made since joining Sierra Moms.
Secretary – Kassie Mora
Kassie Mora is a first time mom of a 1 year old. She loves being a mom and providing many different opportunities for her son to experience. Kassie is excited to be able to serve on the Board of Directors and give back to an organization that has helped her find support and friendship as she navigates the amazing, yet terrifying world of being a mom. She is also a playgroup leader for Sierra Moms.
Kassie is a middle school English teacher. She earned her BA in Liberal Studies at CSU Sacramento and her MA in Teaching at National University. As a full-time working mom, Kassie is an advocate for finding activities and events that moms can attend during the weekends and evenings.
During her free time, Kassie is an amateur tennis player, guitarist, and cake decorator.
Treasurer – Samantha Miller
Samantha is a stay-at-home mom with a 3-year-old daughter and a baby boy. She and her family moved from the Bay Area to El Dorado Hills two years ago and they are absolutely loving it up here (but could do with a little less heat!). Her husband is a firefighter, commuting to the Bay Area. Not knowing anyone here, she joined Sierra Moms right after they moved. Through Sierra Moms, she and her daughter have made really great friends, explored the area, and learned about and given back to the community. Being a part of Sierra Moms has provided much needed support and really helped them feel at home here.
Samantha is happy to have the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors for Sierra Moms, allowing her to support the organization she has gotten so much out of and put her finance skills and experience to work. Prior to moving here and becoming a SAHM, Samantha worked as the Finance Manager and the General Manager for a local government agency. She double-majored in Business Administration/Finance and Spanish as an undergrad at USC in Los Angeles, and then she attended the USC campus in Sacramento to earn her Master of Public Administration.
Samantha loves the outdoors, hiking, running, playing at the lake, traveling, baking, and wine tasting at the beautiful nearby wineries. She looks forward to another fun and productive year with Sierra Moms!
Director Of Existing Membership – Sarah Ford
Sarah is a stay at home mom to two boys, age 9 and 4. Prior to becoming a stay at home mom in 2009 she worked as a school librarian in Sacramento. She earned her BA in History from Saint Mary’s College of California, and is a Northern California girl born and bred. She grew up in El Dorado County, and was thrilled to move back in 2012, where she has ancestral roots stretching back to the 1850s.
Sarah is thrilled to be a part of such a thriving Moms group, and has been active in Sierra Moms since 2013. She has been a co leader of Let’s Explore, and a leader of two play groups. She looks forward to serving her second year as a member of the Board.
Director of New Membership – Waiyee Poon
Waiyee is a work-at-home mother of two boys, and recently relocated to the Sacramento area from London, UK. After moving to Folsom in 2015 where she knew not a soul, she joined Sierra Moms right away to find new friends and activities for her and the kids, and are happy to have been part of this active moms group ever since. She is excited to be part of the Board this year.
In her former life Waiyee was an Executive Assistant and later ran a business teaching Baby Sensory classes. She now runs a home based business but is primarily a stay at home mom. When she has the luxury of time on her hands she enjoys reading, cooking, swimming, and traveling.
Director of Communications – Liz Divelbiss
After growing up in the Bay Area and attending college in Los Angeles, Liz moved to Sacramento to build her career. Two kids later, Liz and her husband relocated from Midtown to Cameron Park to give their family more room to run and play, leaving the ease and amenities of the city behind while gaining access to the family-friendly amenities of the foothills. Liz was excited to find Sierra Moms and its well-organized and diverse range of programming and opportunities for moms and kids alike.
Liz is a communications strategist and consultant and works for a firm in Midtown. She completed her bachelor’s degree in journalism and master’s degree in communications strategy from the University of Southern California and is a die-hard Trojan (as is her husband and hopefully her kids (no pressure)).
In her free time – do moms even have that? – Liz enjoys discovering fun new activities to do with her family, wine and beer tasting, thinking about working out, all things Apple Hill, and getting more connected to the community.
Director of Member Activities – Melissa Ores
Melissa (nickname: MO) lives in Folsom with her husband, two sons (Soren, 4 and Sawyer, 2), lively Golden Retriever (Penny, 4), and snake (Reggie, 23!). Melissa has a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Television, Film and New Media from San Diego State University and she worked as a Production Manager and Producer for film, TV and red carpet events in Los Angeles before relocating to Folsom in 2013 to raise her kids near family (having grown up in the Bay Area, she always longed to return to Northern California!). She still takes on a freelance Producing job now and then, but her main gig is a stay at home mom.
Melissa was Editor of the Sierra Moms newsletter, “The Crier” for nearly 2 years, and is excited to continue on the board for a second term as Director of Member Activities. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, swimming in ice cold rivers and lakes, and working on creative projects with friends. She loves being a mom and values all of the wonderful friendships and experiences her family has gained by being part of Sierra Moms.
Director of Community Relations – Lisa Stuhr
Lisa is a proud mother of Jackson, a very active toddler born in February 2015. Prior to becoming a domestic engineer, she provided school consultation and early intervention therapy to children with special needs. She lives in Cameron Park with her husband and son. Lisa joined Sierra Moms in April 2016 and became a board member in July 2016. As the Director of Subgroups, she is excited to serve the board and do her best to support what she believe is the crux of the organization.
In her spare time she enjoys party planning, baking, recreating diy projects from Pinterest, photographing her family, and binge watching Netflix with a good cup of coffee.
