We’re mothers, wives, sisters, friends, daughters, team members and more – but above
all, we’re human.   Often times, we put our loved ones and others before ourselves. And in a world of self-
care trends, disparity and tragedy, being a real human should be first on our list. When
we can get real with ourselves and others, we create a sense of community and
belonging; this is emotional intelligence (EI).

EI has five main elements: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and
social skills. Knowing yourself means living in your truth; growing from your
experiences, sharing with others what you’ve learned and empathizing in others’ stories.
Not sure where to begin on your EI journey?

Enter the BOLD Speaker Series; a unique event designed by local women, featuring
local women, sharing their bold stories that transcend all audiences. In the inaugural
BOLD Speaker Series, four women, three of which are mothers, speak on the
topics of bravery, optimism, leadership and depression. As an attendee, you’ll go on
an emotional intelligence story, delving into vulnerable topics in a safe place that brings
together the community.

These four women will be on stage at the Harris Center at Folsom Lake College to
share their stories, on February 19, 2020, for an encore performance.
As a follower of Sierra Moms you are eligible for $10 off (use code: Take10) any ticket
of your choice when registering. Grab a girlfriend and make it an evening out in Folsom,
the VIP event opens at 5:30pm and includes mingling with the speakers, wine and
appetizers; the program begins at 6:30pm.

Visit the event website to learn more about the speakers, our second event in
Sacramento happening March 20, 2020 on bias, obsession, loss and design and to
purchase your tickets for the Folsom event!
